THREADS OF RAJASTHAN and more... an enriching, inspiring and unforgettable 15 day journey showcasing the superb textiles of Rajasthan, India. With Rajput and Mughal architecture and accommodation in Luxury Hotels, Palaces & Forts.
In western India, Rajasthan is a land of vibrant colour and enduring romance, where desert forts and fairy-tale palaces embody for us the splendour and valorous deeds of its princely Rajput past. Rajasthan, which means 'the land of kings', was once ruled by warrior princes according to feudal codes of honour. Today many of their glorious palaces have been converted into luxury hotels for the delight of visitors.
Rajasthan is the ideal destination for curious travellers, offering geographical contrasts that range from the great Thar Desert to Udaipur's Lake Pichola, the colourful history of the Rajput clans and their legendary chivalry and courage, magnificent architecture and superb traditional textiles. Travelling through the rural heart of Rajasthan also uncovers for us the life lived by majority of Rajasthanis engaged in agriculture, herding and craft production.
MISSION
To offer privileged access to the rural artisan communities of India and ensure the sustainable longevity of these weaving communities and their traditions.
