Artisans of Fashion (AOF) has partnered with Anoothi - Women’s Self Help Groups in village communities outside Jaipur in Rural India. Anoothi provides alternative careers in textiles to marginalised and exploited women who would otherwise not have a means to a livlihood & live in extreme poverty. The Anoothi women’s self help groups provide them with social and financial empowerment. Through design, craft, community-building and education, Anoothi helps provide new economic realities for marginalised, impoverished women and families in India.

Anoothi’s goal is to create the infrastructure for creative, income-generating initiatives to run sustainably with local leadership. We believe that by providing a fair living wage and educational workshops to these women in need, opportunities can be pursued that build confidence, increase self worth and inspire lives.

In partnership with a highly skilled local block printer, Anoothi will establish a Dying & Block Printing unit and resource centre so that the women and youths can be trained in this wonderful age old craft, indigenous to the region.

Traditional block printed textiles are highly sort after and offer scope for designers to create any number of products from homewares to high end fashion garments.

Artisans of Fashion provides product development and design input as well as connecting retailers & consumers with the product through our awareness and marketing campaigns.
